Charles began serving as Lead Pastor in November, 2013. He, his wife Sherryl and daughter Tiffany came from Chicago. He’s passionate about developing leaders, teaching Scripture in a transformational way, and helping others grow in their faith. He has served as a senior pastor, church planter, teaching pastor, associate pastor, and a church coach/consultant. His education includes a BIE from GA Tech, an Mdiv from Southwestern Seminary in Texas, a DMN from Trinity Seminary in Chicago, and is completing an executive masters in the neuroscience of leadership from the Neuroleadership Institute. He’s written four books with his latest Brain Savvy Leader: The Science of Significant Ministry. He and Sherryl have two other children as well, Heather and Joshua as well as a grandson, Judah. Corey sensed God’s call to ministry early in his adventure with Jesus Christ. He is a graduate of Heritage Bible College in Cambridge ON, and is in the process of completing a Master’s Degree. He has served in several internships, as an associate pastor of youth and discipleship, and has extensive worship leading experience. He has a strong passion for discipleship, worship, music, and helping people grow in their love and service of Jesus Christ. He has a heart for worship as a lifestyle and a love for the Church.
Corey met his wife Caitlyn at Heritage College and married in February 2013. She is his best friend, his confidant and his greatest champion. Caitlyn works at Compassion Canada in London.
Neil became the Pastor of Church Life in April 2015. Neil, initially from a hindu background, became a Christ follower in his teen years when he accepted Jesus into his life and sensed God calling him to full time ministry as a young adult. A graduate of Master’s College & Seminary, Neil has a Bachelor of Theology in Pastoral Ministry and has served in churches in England, Ottawa, the GTA & Woodstock. He has been in ministry since 1990 in a variety of ministries including children, youth, young adults, adults, seniors, preaching and leading. He has a passion to see the church as a gathering of multigenerational and multicultural peoples. Neil is married to the love of his life, and they are the proud parents of two children.
Kevin is excited about his new role at West Park as Pastor of Next Generation and Outreach. He has a love for the local church and a desire to see the church strengthened and built up. Having studied at Summit Pacific College and Master’s College and Seminary, he has a Bachelor of Theology specializing in leadership from Calgary Leadership Training Centre and has had the privilege of serving in church ministry for 19 years including student ministries, leadership development, preaching and leading worship, as well as leading several mission trips to places such as Latvia, and Hong Kong. In his spare time, Kevin enjoys spending family time with his wife Kylie and their three children, Kaden, Jayla and Mekhi.
Joe started in the role of Associate Pastor of Chinese Ministries in March 2013. His primary functions include preaching/teaching, leading, and shepherding among our growing Mandarin-speaking congregation. Joe grew up in an atheistic home in Taiwan and came to the United States for graduate studies in computer science. After a successful career in that field, God graciously saved Joe and eventually called him into vocational ministry. He received a Master of Divinity from Overseas Theological Seminary and then pastored for about six years at Monterey Chinese Christian Church in California and Chinese Christian Fellowship Church in Michigan. Joe serves alongside his wife Amy, and they have a young adult son. He enjoys watching sports, exercising, and singing/listening to music.
Mario began his role as Associate Pastor of Spanish Ministries at West Park in September 2015. Born in Central America, Mario’s spiritual journey began in 1997 and in 2001, he graduated with a Bachelor of Theology. Mario’s ministry has taken him throughout several countries as an evangelist and has provided him with opportunity to preach in more than 80 churches. He is passionate and very committed to preaching the Word and contributing in the expansion of the body of Christ. Mario and his wife, Angelica have two children: a daughter, Belen and a son, Josue.
John is very excited and passionate about his role at West Park as our Associate Pastor of Student Ministries. Originally from the St. Thomas area, John has been involved in youth ministry for eight years and is currently completing a Bachelor of Theology in youth ministry at Emmanuel Bible College. He enjoys music, leading worship, and playing sports. Although John's favorite activity is playing hockey. John married his high school sweet heart Rebecca in 2016.
Kimberly joined the West Park staff in May 2012. She gives leadership to our ministries for children from birth through grade 5, including Sunday morning, midweek, special occasion, and summer programs. In addition, Kimberly strategizes how to assist and encourage parents in their role as the primary spiritual influencers in the lives of their children. Professionally, she ran a home daycare for a decade. Kimberly also volunteered actively in her previous church as head of the Sunday school department and as a Sunday school teacher, leading parenting courses, and participating in day camp. She graduated from Ambrose University College with a Bachelor of Religious Education. Kimberly is married to Ryan, and they have three kids: Ashley, Alyssa, and Brad. She enjoys watching her kids play sports, reading, gardening, scrapbooking/card making, and knitting.
Galen joined the West Park staff in March 2013. He oversees and leads our worship and office tech teams as they provide our ministries with the necessary support to function with excellence. Galen got his tech start when he was 14 and volunteered at Orangeville Alliance Church. It was there that his love for Jesus and his love for technology grew together. Galen graduated in 2007 from the Metal Works Institute of Sound and Music Production with a diploma in audio production and engineering. Since then he has worked for Frischkorn Audio Visual as an AV tech and Roland Systems Group as a sales engineer. Galen married his wife Andrea in April 2013. In his spare time, he enjoys sports, computers, movies and music.
Lorraine joined the office staff in 2005. She and her husband, Nick, have an adult daughter, Denise, and two granddaughters: Mikhaila and Hayley. Since joining the West Park church family in 2006, Lorraine counts it a privilege to teach a Growth Group and to serve in the Alpha ministry. Because family time is very important to the Dykstras, they spend as much time as possible at their retreat in Sauble Beach and especially enjoy travelling to Caribbean!
Jackie grew up at West Park and joined the office staff in 2003. In the summer of 2012 she was appointed Director of Administrative Ministries, which involves supporting ministries and events through the organization and scheduling of our facility, maintaining church records, providing support to our pastoral staff, and managing different levels of communication to our congregation. She also enjoys volunteering in our children’s ministry. Jackie graduated from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago with a Bachelor of Music. She and her husband Rob have three children: Lauren, Claire, and Noah. Jackie enjoys running, knitting, and working on crafts with her kids.
Alyssa's passions have always resided in the arts. For the last four years after receiving a Bachelor in Fine Arts from York University, Alyssa worked in costume design for theatre. Recently, she has changed paths, and is excited to be studying graphic design at Fanshawe College. In her spare time Alyssa enjoys spending quality time with her husband Jordan, designing, cooking and getting togetherwith her friends and family.
