West Park Church - Children

Children

At West Park we commit ourselves to families in two significant ways.  First, we commit to guiding and equipping parents with tools and resources to help them be the primary spiritual influencers in their homes.  Second, we commit to teaching and reinforcing God’s truths to kids through a variety of creative and relevant means.

Nursery >> Ministry to a young family, at its very heart, involves compassionate and tender care for their children.  Nursery care for infants is available from the most exceptional volunteers during our Sunday worship services.

Children’s Music and Storytime >> Every Monday morning @ 10:30 am in the 3 year old room. Check the calendar for occasional cancellations due to holidays and other unavoidable events!
An informal time for moms, dads, grandparents or caregivers and little ones to get together and enjoy some singing and stories with Carole.  For all ages…from the very tiny to almost school-age, this is a great time to connect and spend time with other adults and their children.

KidsWalk
 >> This is our Sunday morning program for children ages 2½ through grade 5.  KidsWalk runs during our adult worship services and includes music, drama, a key-note speaker, LifeGroup discussions, crafts and activities, offering, and a time of prayer.  This allows the children to experience a creative and compelling worship service designed especially for them.  Our focus for KidsWalk is that as kids grow and mature, truths from God’s Word will shape how they process the many challenges that come their way.  Check out the Gospel Project LifeWay Curriculum we are using.  It’s AWESOME!!

KidsWorks
 >> KidsWorks happens on Tuesday nights from 6:15-8:15 pm for children in grades 1-5.  Our purpose for this program is to teach practical life skills and to help kids discover how they are God’s workmanship, designed and created by him for a purpose and place in this world.

Session 3 of KidsWorks will begin on March 28

As kids learn biblical truths and experience God’s love both at home and at church, they have an opportunity to move into the future with a solid faith foundation.  Thank you for the privilege of partnering with you to help your child develop a faith that sticks.  At West Park we believe that the Word of God not only changes a child; it changes a family!

Kimberly joined the West Park staff in May 2012. She gives leadership to our ministries for children from birth through grade 5, including Sunday morning, midweek, special occasion, and summer programs. In addition, Kimberly strategizes how to assist and encourage parents in their role as the primary spiritual influencers in the lives of their children. Professionally, she ran a home daycare for a decade. Kimberly also volunteered actively in her previous church as head of the Sunday school department and as a Sunday school teacher, leading parenting courses, and participating in day camp. She graduated from Ambrose University College with a Bachelor of Religious Education. Kimberly is married to Ryan, and they have three kids: Ashley, Alyssa, and Brad. She enjoys watching her kids play sports, reading, gardening, scrapbooking/card making, and knitting.
